I love Kickstarter. I think that’s clear to people who know me by now? I love it. There’s a dude named Brad Muir and he works at Double Fine and I love the games they make, so much. But before Kickstarter, every time a Double Fine game came out I was a little worried it would be their last,…
Please click through to read the whole post. It’s about a Kickstarter project that basically advocates sexual assault. There’s a link at the end of the post to where you can report the project to Kickstarter and hopefully get it removed before it receives the money that has been pledged.
- Tessa: I'm ready to die for Will. I'm ready to die for Jem. I want to protect the people I love, no matter what may happen to me.
- Fangirls: You're a stupid whore, please go fuck yourself or better die.
- Sebastian: I've killed Max, almost killed Isabelle, I tried to kill Jace, I tried to strangle Alec, I tried to rape Clary, I want to burn down the world. Oh, did I mention that I'm into incest and I'm a homophobic piece of shit?
- Fangirls: OMG SEBBY I LOVE YOU YOU PRECIOUS MISUNDERSTOOD SOUL.
So excited about this one. I adored this book.
So I have a lot of feelings every single time I hear that people are “angry” or “annoyed” or whatever that they can’t find ONE SINGLE YA BOOK IN THE ENTIRE YA SECTION FOR BOYS TO READ and YOUNG MEN ARE FAILING BECAUSE GIRLS ARE TAKING OVER LITERATURE and HOW CAN BOYS POSSIBLY BE…
My 14 yo son tends to read a lot of the same YA books I read and has no problem with them. Maybe I just have the best kids ever* but I would like to think more boys would read a wider variety if it was introduced to them as books for teens and they were encouraged to read what interests them and not worry about what others think. Of course getting the average teen to not care about his peers opinions is a whole other discussion.
* I do, just saying.Related story, when my son was reading Prom Dates From Hell by Rosemary Clement Moore, at school, he was asked why he was reading vampire romance, and was told he was reading a girl book. I an so glad that he shrugged off those comments and kept right on reading.

Man: “Well, I’ve seen all five seasons, I just hope you get more.”
Me: “You mean you hope they make more episodes?”
Man: “Yes, that’s a great idea!”
Me: “-“
If anyone ever tells you you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don’t need that kind of negativity in your life.
